Go Panda! This adorable set is delightful for a child’s room. And there are hats to fit everyone in the family!

Panda Set Crochet Pattern

Bring the exotic into your home with this Panda Set crochet pattern. There’s something in here for everyone. You can crochet your own bean bag chair (cozy that fits a 96″ bean bag), make an afghan, whip up a little stuffed animal or create delightful gifts for a baby shower with hats and diaper cover pants.

Panda Bean Bag Chair

Create your own Panda Bear for your child’s room. This cozy fits around a 96″ bean bag chair, but you could stuff it with pillows wrapped in batting. The spike stitch gives the illusion of fur. And we include info on crocheting with fun fur, too!

Once you’ve crocheted 2/3 of the cozy, you’ll stuff the bean bag in it. Then finish up by crocheting around the bean bag. All the facial features (eyes, ears, nose, hands, feet and bamboo) are crocheted separately and sewn on.

Bamboo Afghan

Cuddle up with this afghan. It makes a delightful baby blanket or lapghan. The black and white blanket is crocheted first. Then the bamboo and Chinese characters are crocheted separately and sewn on.

Panda Stuffed Animal

The little tykes will love hugging and squeezing the little stuffed animal. The spike stitch gives this little toy the illusion of fur.

The stuffed animal is crocheted with stripes. All the facial features (eyes, ears, nose, hands and feet) are crocheted separately and sewn on.

Panda Hats and Pants

There are 6 hat sizes to fit everyone in the family from newborn to adult men!

There are 4 pant sizes to fit babies from newborn to 12 months.

As with other elements, the spike stitch gives the look of fur at color transitions. These make wonderful photo props with the young ones.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

While the majority of the projects are easy, the leaves in the bamboo use foundation chain stitches (sometimes called no chain foundation ch). Due to this, we rate the bean bag and afghan intermediate projects.

Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, spike, foundation chain stitches, picot

Techniques Used: Crochet in Rows, Crochet in the Round, Increase, Decrease
